The ability of a radio receiver to separate a signal at a desired range of frequencies from signals at other frequencies, some of which may be received at similar power levels. Selectivity is a measure of the receiver's ability to recover the signal in an individual sub-band or channel and reject the signals received on other channels that fall within the receiver's radio-frequency (RF) bandwidth. It is normally specified as the signal strength in a selected channel relative to that in another channel, primarily the channel adjacent in frequency.
