Structural experiments play an important role in earthquake engineering research for understanding the behavior of buildings and other structures subjected to earthquake forces. As the scale and complexity of modern structural experiments increase, the existing earthquake engineering laboratories, which are often faced with limited resources (such as space and equipment), inevitably become incapable of satisfying the demand of various types of large-scale and complicated experiments.
