The Oseberg find is one of the most important archeological finds in Norway and represents the most comprehensive collection of Viking Age wooden objects in the world. The archeological artifacts are displayed at the Viking Ship Museum in Oslo. Unfortunately, the unique objects are threatened by a slow but ongoing deterioration caused by a conservation treatment with alum salts that was done more than 100 years ago. Today, the artifacts of the Oseberg find are in an alarming condition.
