Imagine knowing your overall health condition all the time, or even knowing that someone or something continuously monitors your health condition. This objective is now realizable thanks to recent advances in sensor node and network technologies. Small sensor nodes that are attached to the human body (commonly known as body sensors) and connected to the Internet, and that are able to collect physical or biological parameters, are now a reality. These sensor nodes are used to monitor overall human health. Close control over the data collected by these sensor nodes can help detect abnormal health situations. The application of these technologies to health care represents an added value in improving the health control of patients in health-care facilities. Small body sensor nodes can be placed all over a patient's body, providing continuous and remote monitoring of certain health parameters. Thus, if an abnormal situation is detected, the system can alert the medical staff immediately, thereby reducing the time required for rapid assistance.
