Figure 1.Hubble Space Telescope image of the galaxy I Zwicky 18, which may be only 500 million years old and the youngest galaxy ever seen in the universe. The galaxy may have gone through several sudden bursts of star formation, resulting in the concentrated knots embedded in the heart of the galaxy. The recent star formation may have been triggered by interaction with a companion galaxy just above and to the right of the dwarf galaxy. (NASA; ESA; Y.
