The charge-coupled-device (CCD) camera is attached to a cryogenically cooled housing that contains the detector along with the controlling electronics. The fiber-optic bundle carries the excitation wavelength in a central fiber to the probe, and the Raman scatter is collected in the outer fibers of the bundle.
