Sheets of magnetic material with thicknesses of a few micrometers or less, used in the electronics industry. Magnetic films can be single-crystal, polycrystalline, amorphous, or multilayered in the arrangement of their atoms. Applications include magnetooptic storage, inductive recording media, magnetoresist sensors, and thin-film heads.
